The Galaxie was introduced by Ford in the United States from 1959 until 1974 as its full size car to compete against the Chevrolet Impala. This Galaxie is from the third generation which was offered from 1965 through 1968. Along with a new generation came a whole new design, one easily spotted change is in the headlights, they are vertically stacked dual headlights making the car seem taller and bulkier than previous years. Built originally as a high-end luxury car during the 1950's, these have become smaller and straighter over the years to better reflect to demands of more engine, and lighter body. Ford's answer to this was the 66 Fairlane. Built as a 2-door Sedan, this full body car has been modified slightly to increase power and drivability even more. The engine is a 302 cubic inch V8, built and modified with HEI ignition for more efficient spark. The transmission is a 5-speed manual complete with hydraulic clutch for ease of shifting.
