The Calais name came from the French Town and resort which overlooked the English Channel. With the design being out for 5 years it was getting a little tired and a revamp was scheduled for the following year. The Calais really was a De Ville with just less standard equipment. For instance the power windows and 2 way power seats are standard with the De Ville while the Calais had hand crank windows standard with the power seat optional as well. This particular 70 Calais has all of the options which when you order it you can get it how you want it. That-s right this car was ordered, from the factory, and built to the original owners specs. The data tag, which is available, even has his name on it. Owned by him until 2015 this car has had a pampered life and even to this day has less than 69000 miles on it. The exterior is in its original color and looks great due to the restoration of the body in 2001 and has been garaged kept ever since.
