The Calais name came from the French Town and resort which overlooked the English Channel. With the design being out for 5 years it was getting a little tired and a revamp was scheduled for the following year. The Calais really was a De Ville with just less standard equipment. The Cadillac Allante is a unique and growingly collectible two seat convertible sold by Cadillac in the late 1980s and early 1990s. A small badge on the fender hints at the unique Italian/American automotive relationship that made these cars possible. The bodies were made by famous Italian design house Pininfarina.
