1925 Chevrolet Superior
View Description
In 1925 The Chevrolet Motor Division was started in 1911 and merged into General Motors in 1917. By 1925 when this beauty was built they were in direct competition with Fords Model T and eventually surpassed the -T- as the number one selling car in the United States. To compete with Fords marketing slogans Chevrolet introduced -A car for every purse and purpose- and that is what they delivered. A few items that set them apart from the Model T of 1925 are the driver friendly 3 speed floor shift gearbox, crank controlled front windshield, vacuum powered windshield wiper and an accelerator pedal. This configuration of a floor shift with clutch pedal was so popular it is still used today in modern cars. Options on this car include a wooden and chrome plated steering wheel, custom leatherette upholstery, electric dome light, electric dash light, carpeted floor, wood spoke wheels, beveled rearview mirror with clock, wide whitewall tires and custom wood accelerator pedal.
