The Chevrolet Camaro was devised as a counterpunch to the famous Ford Mustang, and in the process it became a performance icon itself. GM had been forced to watch the massive success of the Mustang with nothing of their own to counter it, and immediately deemed it necessary to respond in kind. A pony car was approved in 1964 and was ready for the 1967 model year. Like the Mustang, the Camaro was offered in a range of models, from an attractive yet basic coupe to potent and pricey high-performance models.

Camaro fans, we have a special one for you! Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is honored to present this outstanding, FIRST YEAR 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS RS!

This Gen-1 Camaro was born a real SS RS, the 4th week of December 1967. Documentation shows it had the 350 small block originally, which was replaced at some point with a 454 big-block Chevrolet. It is an original 4-speed car from the factory. Needless to say, it has plenty of power and will put a grin on your face! Ah, nothing quite like cubic inches and a 4-speed. These cars dominated the streets and dragstrips, and fortunately this one survived.

The impressive exterior looks great with the custom medium blue and white stripes, which replaced the Tahoe Turquoise from the factory. It sits nice and the aftermarket mags look terrific....

As the debut year for the Camaro 1967 brought excitement to Chevrolet. With a variety of trim packages and drivetrain options the first-generation Camaro was an instant hit! This stunning Camaro is powered by a built 383 Stroker motor making 401hp to the wheels and is mated to a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission.
