Much in the same way the Model A was a canvas for hot-rodder's in the 50's the post war sedans were a great starting point for guys looking to hone their craft in the 60's and 70's thanks to their high volume and cheap cost. 1938 was not such a great year for Chevrolet. Sales were hurting with an estimated 43% downturn from the year before, it looked like they may have been a little too aggressive on pricing raising them 4. 5% in the middle of a recession is arguably not a very smart thing to do. Styling however was going great for the Chevy brand that had brought in Pontiac's designer Franklin Hershey. Even to this day the 38's are sought after for their smooth and flowing lines which lend themselves nicely to Streetrod. This 38 has been given the classic Streetrod treatment.
