1957 was a banner year for Ford, finally outselling Chevy for the first time since WWII. Much of this success was due to the great design efforts of Henry Ford II. Still to this day when you look at the 57 Fairlane it does not appear to be a 60 year old design. You can tell that the jet-age was upon us, with its huge fins and jet tube tail lights everything on this 57 screams 1950's. This particular car has a very straight body with no signs of rust or heavy mud, it shows very well. The two toned red and white paint is in good condition and screams classic Americana. Extended an extra almost two feet by the continental kit, this Fairlane 500 is as optioned as they come. Tilt the hood and you will see a very clean engine bay with the 312 Y block nestled comfortably right in the middle. H code was a designation that Ford used on its passenger cars in 1958 that were sporting there new 'Big Block Motors'. The biggest and baddest of the bunch was the ferocious sounding 352 CID. Pumped up and putting out an astounding 300 horse the new BB's were an absolute force to be reckoned with. With the new styling that came out in 57 and this huge motor the Fairlane H code cars were here to stay. This particular Black Beauty is a great example of what these cars can be. With an odometer reading of just a tad over 41000 miles this 58 is truly one of a kind. Oh but wait those 46000 mile, those are believed to be actual as stated on the title.
