It has the flathead Ford V8 under the hood which is mated to a manual 3 speed transmission on the steering column, also known as a 3 on the tree. It has been updated with an electric fuel pump and regulator. It also recently has a new battery, master cylinder and two-wheel cylinders. The Shelby GT package slots in between the base GT and the supercharged GT500 model. Shelby rates these just shy of 320 horsepower when new, but this example has had a few extra ponies extracted from the 4. 6l 3-valve modular V8 engine. A set of JBA stainless steel headers were fitted to help get the exhaust out quickly.

This black beauty is all dressed up. The Shelby hood pins help this Mustang stand our from the normal GTs on the road, as do the Shelby 18x9. 5' wheels. Under the hood is the Shelby dress up kit, and the front calipers were upgraded to Shelby 6-piston units, while the rears were powder coated red to match.
