This is without a doubt one of the nicest 3rd-gen Novas that we've had, in terms of the quality of the restoration. The Butternut Yellow paint has been applied and finished with great care, and you'll be hard pressed to find anything about the paintwork that you'd want to find issue with. It just looks 'factory'. The same goes for the execution of the vinyl roof and the interior - very nicely done, and they look great! This beast is powered by the venerable 396 CID V8, which seems to have a bit more cam than it might have originally had, given the healthy rumble it's putting out. Ignition for the big block is by MSD: billet distributor, Blaster coil, and plug wires. Behind the 396 is a GM TH400 3-speed automatic, so those who dislike operating a clutch are in luck! The 1978 Indy 500 Pace Car marked the first time a Corvette was chosen as the pace car for the Indy 500 and happened to be the 25th anniversary of the Corvette. This well-cared for Corvette is powered by an L48 350 CID small block V8 engine, backed by a GM TH350 3-speed automatic. Only 6,502 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car edition Corvettes were built, ensuring that they will continue to become harder to find as time goes on and more of them go by the wayside.
