This Camaro has been through over 5 years of thoughtful and painstaking build-out. Initially a mild restomod process was planned; but, as most car people know, things can go from mild to wild in just a few beats. According to its trim plate, it was originally LeMans Blue, however, it was completely stripped and treated to its nearly completely blacked-out look. With nearly $72K in paint and bodywork receipts documenting the extent of the time-consuming work involved in getting it to this awesome looking result, it's evident that its owner spared little expense in achieving the outcome he was looking for. Starting with a very clean 1969 Camaro, this black beauty was taken down to bare metal before the transformation began. A 6. 2L GM LS3 crate engine and a 4L85E 4-speed automatic transmission were selected for the powertrain, making this a 'daily-driver-ready' sled. However, in keeping with the desire to have a more unique look (than most LS-based restomod projects do in the engine bay), an Edelbrock 71413 LS3 Cross-Ram intake manifold was chosen for the top end; plus, twin custom-fabbed cold air intakes were built for it. Under the hood of this beast is a stout 502 CID V8. The power is sent to the rear end via a five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Providing spark to that massive engine is a MSD digital ignition that allows for easy starts, smooth idle, and quick throttle response. Providing the fuel needed to make all of those bald eagles scream is a FAST fuel injection system. This baby also has a nitrous system fed by a NOS 10 pound bottle. When it comes time to slow down, the driver will appreciate the six-piston Baer brake calipers that bite into drilled and slotted rotars up front. One of the most iconic of the Pony Cars, the 1969 Camaro has developed a cult-like following. The Camaro was introduced in 1967 as Chevrolet's answer to combat the success of Ford's Mustang, which created a whole new vehicle segment, later dubbed 'Pony Cars'. For 1969, the Camaro received all-new sheet metal (except for the hood and trunk), which served to give the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with the heavy 'V' cant, and the headlights were given a new recessed position. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, and more aggressive look.
