The F series pickup was introduced in 1947 as the first truck created by Ford after the war. It would also be the first truck that was based on a dedicated truck chassis. All of this is irrelevant on this beauty given the many custom changes that have been done. Start with the exterior the custom burgundy metallic is naturally a color not available on the 55 Fords but really sets off the body lines of this classic. Under the tilt hood is a 302 Ford V8 the heart pumping. It-s refreshing to see, as many of these old Ford-s get Chevy transplants. Mated to the 302 is C-4 automatic transmission, so that the drivetrain stays all Ford. For added safety and better aesthetics, the fuel tank/filler have been relocated to under the bed. An aluminum cover in the rear center of bed looks great and makes it easy to access for fill ups. The floor of the bed is a combination of finished wood planks and chrome metal strips.
