After the war people were lined up waiting for General motors to start rolling out the new pickup line. That featured a new, larger windshield, bigger side and rear window glass, and optional rear-quarter windows vastly improved safety and drivability. Higher and wider cab doors made entry and exit easier. Another new feature, which further contributed to driver comfort and safety, was a fresh-air heater/defroster system, which brought fresh outside air into the cab and forced used air out through vents at the rear of the cab.

This Panel has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration that nearly make the vehicle a time Machine. In 1954 the truck was purchased by the Ziddel family in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Panel was used for deliveries of the family store. As many years passed, the truck was replaced and parked in a barn where it sat for approximately 40 years. In 2006, there was an estate auction where it was purchased. In 2011, the long awaited truck then got a second chance. The owners noticed that the VIN ended in 1007, decoding the fact that this Panel was the seventh off the assembly line! It now carries the nickname, 'lucky seven'. Powering the Panel is the believed to be, original 248 Inline 6 cylinder engine. These engines were vastly advertised as the new thing in performance and reliability. This freshly restored green and tan Mustang convertible is ready to hit the road, equipped with the venerable 302CID V8 and 3 speed manual transmission she has all the right features to put a smile on anyone's face. As you can tell from the pictures of the restoration this Mustang has come a very long way in the last few years and is now a head turner in every aspect.
