Ever heard of Beatersville or the Rat Rod movement? A Rat Rod is a style of hot rod or custom car that, in most cases, imitates (or exaggerates) the early hot rods of the 1940s, 1950s, and early-1960s. The style is not to be confused with the somewhat closely related 'traditional' hot rod, which is an accurate re-creation or period-correct restoration of a hot rod from the same era. Most rat rods appear 'unfinished', regardless of their status. Beatersville is a special event held for these vehicles in the Louisville KY area. This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 5 Window Pickup is a great example of this movement. It has that rough exterior look that gives it that -work in progress- look. The faded black paint has just the right look with a few scratches here and there. The cab and truck bed are in very good shape. This truck does have new bumpers, grill, front and rear parking lights/turn signals. The bed has red cedar boards with metal strips. The diamond plate work box, in the bed, gives this truck the look of a vehicle that was used for daily duties, no trailer queen wanna be here! The cab and bed now...

This gloss black truck was meant to be driven down the road to the next car show. The stance has the traditional hot rod look with a set of chrome Cragar wheels. The wheels are wrapped in radial tires. Accenting the gloss black is a subtle pin striping job by the famous, or infamous Bob Taylor of Louisville Ky. Open the hood and you will see a nice SBC 350 CID the engine only has a few 1000 miles on it. There was an inline 6 cylinder engine in this C10, but it lacked the cool factor, so the 350 V-8 got the nod....

1930 was a monumental year for Ford. Sales of the Model A, now available in 9 body styles, would hit 3 million units. Gone were the days of 'you can have it in any color as long as it was black'. You could actually get them in 4 different standard colors. This was also the first Ford to use modern controls such as the gas, brake, and clutch. This Model A has had huge make over and looks like it came straight out of the 50's. With its flat black paint job covering what little sheet metal it has this rod is ready for whatever you want to throw at. Classic pin striping adorns the rear keeping with the 50's vintage feel. Huge whitewalls are sitting on all four corners that look even bigger due to the missing fenders. This 1971 C-10 Pick Up has a very nice paint scheme. The blue/silver paint goes great together, and is sure to make heads turn, when you-re out cruising. This is a great truck to take out for a Saturday night cruise or to show off at a car show. Introduced in 1948 the F series was an instant success with its all new styling. This F1 has a great 'Shop Truck' look about it which has grown in popularity lately. The truck was actually built as street rod but unfortunately the builder passed away and due to unknown circumstances sit outside giving the paint that faded shop truck look. The grill looks really cool with the vertical posts having a shine giving them contrast against the flat paint. The metal however is still solid and in good shape with no signs of rot or rust. Open the hood and you will find, as with most builds, a Chevy Small block was sourced giving this Ford the heartbeat of America. Mated up to the ever reliable TH350 this Ford is filled with solid Chevrolet parts. The rear end was sourced from a S10 completing this GM drive train. The wheels have been painted a custom red with chrome beauty rings which look very good and go with the Texaco logo very nicely.
