Ever heard of Beatersville or the Rat Rod movement? A Rat Rod is a style of hot rod or custom car that, in most cases, imitates (or exaggerates) the early hot rods of the 1940s, 1950s, and early-1960s. The style is not to be confused with the somewhat closely related 'traditional' hot rod, which is an accurate re-creation or period-correct restoration of a hot rod from the same era. Most rat rods appear 'unfinished', regardless of their status. Beatersville is a special event held for these vehicles in the Louisville KY area. This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 5 Window Pickup is a great example of this movement. It has that rough exterior look that gives it that -work in progress- look. The faded black paint has just the right look with a few scratches here and there. The cab and truck bed are in very good shape. This truck does have new bumpers, grill, front and rear parking lights/turn signals. The bed has red cedar boards with metal strips. The diamond plate work box, in the bed, gives this truck the look of a vehicle that was used for daily duties, no trailer queen wanna be here! The cab and bed now...
