Many people will make the argument that Ford made the better 3 Window than GM and vise versa of course. When you think about though when people get done with these cars most of the time they have been so customized that it is very hard to tell. As is the case with this absolutely beautiful 35 Chevrolet Hotrod. Starting life as an all steel 35 Chevy 3 Window coupe it has come a long way and retains very little of the 1935 technology. The body was given a total makeover with a total of 4, yes not a typo, 4 inches out of the top giving this coupe a look that is all to its own. With the running boards added to the side this 35 looks a lot longer than its Ford counterparts. With the body modifications done it was time to lay on some paint and what better color to paint a hot rod than red, but not just any red. Keeping with the Bow Tie group Victory red was chosen and applied. When it came to the Impala in the early to mid 60's the SS 409 was the cream of the crop. This numbers matching example is exactly that. The original 409 CI V8 is sitting under the hood and the original 2-speed powerglide is still there as well. This car has definitely been restored to a great condition and is a sight for sore eyes. Coming off of a benchmark year for Ford the '69-'70 Mustangs were hot and sales were through the roof, especially for the Mach 1. The Mach 1 package was only available in the Sportsroof body style, (previously known as a fastback); never on the hardtop or convertible. The Mach 1 is known for having 2 variations of the 351 CI V8. The 2 valve Windsor and the notorious 4 valve Cleveland. This example was built at Dearborn and has the Cleveland engine mated to the optional FMX 3 speed transmission. Ordered from the factory with black hood stripe, conveniece group, the previosuly mentioned transmission, and sport deck rear seat. Other options incude power steering, a/c, AM/FM radio, factory tinted glass and a tachometer. Approaching the car it looks black as night, a stealth fighter in the shadows, but upon further inspection you notice the sheen of a Jade Black finish, a beautiful shade for this muscle car. This piece of history is a great example of an unrestored, 100% original, survivor '68 Vette. Originally owned by the family of Levi Strauss, and purchased right down the street from his original Jeans factory! With only 25,351 actual, original miles, this car is the kind that collectors dream about. It has won multiple awards from the NCRS, scoring in the 90s for its originality! A very high accolade for this Corvette! The car has only had three owners, and everything from the very beginning is documented. This Vette was placed in storage in the early 80's and didn't make it's way back to the road until 2002 when the current owner purchased it and did some general maintenance to get ready to roll again.
