A true SS Nova with the build sheet to back it! On July 8th, 1970 this Chevrolet Nova was purchased in Danville, Virginia. The original purchase invoice of the car that comes with it lists all of the original factory options including a Forest Green exterior, black vinyl interior, custom deluxe belts, soft ray tinted glass, Strato bucket seats, door edge guards, Center Console, positraction axle, Turbo Hydra Matic, Special instrumentation, AM push button radio, Exterior dcor package, rally wheels, and last but certainly not least is the Nova SS equipment. Fast forward 46 years to today and the original owner of this car would be astounded to see what their car looks like, sounds like, and the amount of overall improvement in performance and style. This car was tastefully modified to look like 1 of 38 427 Yenko Novas and is sporting a L-78 396 CID V8 built up to 425 horsepower and is attached to a M20 Muncie 4 speed manual transmission that truly makes for a great driving experience in this car. The 5. 3LS(LM4)Chevy Motor & 4L60 w/Overdrive Transmission are from a 30,000mile 2003 Chevy SS Trailblazer-Factory 290hp aluminum motor. Outfitted with a Corvette intake Manifold and Sanderson Stainless Steel Headers and Magna Flow Mufflers with Magna Flow Shorty's Exhaust. 4 pulls on the Dyno resulting in 340 HP! Ford 9' Rear End was purchased from Speedway Motors and the gear ratio is 3:26 which puts the rpms at 2400 at 75mph, and 2450 at 80mph-Built to be a Freeway Flyer! This little Nova has received a very detailed frame off restoration and looks truly amazing. Restoring and painting a black car requires some serious skill and this one is a perfect example of just that. Separating this car from a standard Chevy II and making it a Nova is accomplished by the absence of the 'B' pillar or the post separating the glass from the front to the rear. This gives the car a true hard top look as opposed to the sedan look with the post/B pillar found on the Chevy II. Powering this Nova is a built 355 Chevy Small Block. A beefy hydraulic Cam and lifters give this car a great muscle car sound and good low end grunt. The power is sent through a rebuilt 700R4 and back to a 10 bolt rear end housing 3. 73 rear gears. This allows you to have fun around town from stop light to stop light but also allows you to hit the highway and cruise in overdrive at a lower RPM.
