The Hurst Olds was a package first introduce in 1969 with a Black and Silver paint scheme. For 1969 they went with a White and Gold color scheme (Cameo white, with Firefrost Gold stripes). One very noticeable feature were the mailbox hood scoops mounted towards the leading edge of the hood. Research showed that the scoops mounted further back near the center of the hood were highly insufficient. The air would hit the front of the car and shoot right over the mid mounted air inlets. This new design was fully functional and added a lot of cold air right into the carburetor. Cold air is dense air and that means more power! As you may have guessed the car is equipped with a heavy duty Hurst 4-speed shifter. Built to take hard shifts and stay in the gas. Granted only 2 1969 Hurst/Olds were equipped with 4-speeds.
