1970 Plymouth GTX

View Description

The Plymouth GTX was introduced in 1967 as Plymouth's big-block performance model for the muscle car market. Based on a two-door Belvedere hardtop and convertible, the 'new' GTX came equipped with air grabber hood scoops, a special grille and tail panel, and 'pit stop' chrome gas cap. A quintessential muscle car, the Plymouth GTX continues to impress collectors with its speed, power, and cubic inches.

This 1970 GTX has went under a full rotisserie restoration completed only a year ago and retains the original numbers matching 440 cubic inch, 6-pack V8 that pushes out 390 horsepower and has been recently rebuilt during the full restoration. Backing up the big block powerhouse is the numbers matching A727 Torque Flight automatic transmission which shifts nice and smooth through all 3 speeds.

The exterior of this GTX looks amazing, the bright red high gloss finish shines like a mirror thanks to the recent professional detail and the black vinyl top that is in great condition give this GTX a great classic style. With subtle white decals running up and down the length of the car, this GTX give it that nice classic look that everyone knows and loves. The interior of this Plymouth...

1967 Plymouth GTX

View Description

Marketed in 1967 as the 'Gentleman's Muscle Car' in print and TV ads, this particular GTX is more of a 'Terrify Women and Small Children Muscle Car'. Originally a 440 car, the swapped 426 cubic inch Hemi V8 barks loudly when you bring it to life with a little air, fire and gasoline to alert all the small blocks in the neighborhood that the big dog has come out to play. A smooth shifting 727 Torque Flight 3 Speed Automatic transmission helps the 8 3/4 Posi-Traction rear end housing 3:55 gears put copious amounts of power to the ground. The Coker Redline tires beg and plead for grip when you give it the beans while the Hemi reminds you that it's very much capable of moving a 3,999 lb car down the road...

1968 Plymouth GTX

View Description

The GTX was based on Plymouth's Belvedere and was sometimes referred to as 'the gentleman's muscle car', because it received upgraded 'luxury' features vs. the plain Belvedere or Road Runner. The 1968 model year also saw major changes in the Mopar lineup, with most models receiving new looks. The 440 Super Commando V8 was standard, and typically saw a 727 TorqueFlite automatic installed; however, a few were given the HD A-833 4-speed manual transmission. The majority of the GTXs built were coupes, while only about 375 were convertibles. A lower percentage of the convertibles received manual transmissions than automatics, which makes this a rare chariot indeed. This GTX is painted in the EE1 shade of dark blue and has a white interior. The 375HP 440 Super Commando V8 is topped by its original Carter AVS 4BBL carb and is equipped with dual exhaust. Backing the big 440 is an 11' HD flywheel, the requisite A-833 heavy duty 4-speed manual transmission, and behind that is the 9 3/4' Dana 60 rear end with 3. 54:1 gears and limited slip (Sure Grip) differential. This GTX is also equipped with HD torsion bar suspension, HD front sway bar, and HD chassis reinforcements (reinforced front...
