The aluminum LT5 V8 found under the hood of this beautiful Corvette is a modern work of automotive art. Originally intended to be a simple set of 16-valve cylinder heads atop a basic Chevrolet small block, the Lotus engineers assigned to the project quickly realized there was no cost-effective way to build such a beast. Instead, they designed a world class V8 which shared basic dimensions with Chevrolet's storied small block. The result is a 32-valve, four cam powerhouse that features a trick dual-path induction system, 405 horsepower and 385 lb. /ft. of torque. The aesthetically pleasing piece was assembled by Mercury Marine, whose specialization in aluminum casting won them the contract; and when fitted under the Corvette's clamshell hood, it became an ultra-performance world record holder. Behind that hot LT5 is a proven ZF 6-speed manual, which has been fitted with a much appreciated skip shift eliminator, distributes power to a factory Corvette rear end. The Mustang created the pony car class of American automobiles. This Iconic pony car has been completely gone through and restored in 2009. The poppy red paint is a beautiful shade of orange, and was painted at the time of the restoration. The manual Convertible top was replaced at the time of the restoration and is in excellent shape. Under the hood is the strong 200ci inline 6 engine that has powered these 1965 Mustangs. Putting the power to the ground is a 3-speed automatic transmission. This car is powered by the original 350 and 6 speed manual transmission. The first thing that you notice on this car is the airbrush work. The artist used the factory paint as his base and created this tribute to the American Eagle, America, and the Flag. It appears to be blowing in the wind going down both sides of the car. Other styling modifications include side panels on the rear window. They give the car a fastback look, and unique license plate holders that add a distinctive look to both the front and back. Open the hood and the tribute continues. Silhouettes of the twin towers are airbrushed on the underside of the hood and old glory is blazing on the engine covers.
