The latter half of the C3 generation of Corvettes suffered from emissions regulations which kept horsepower down. They're often considered entry level collector cars as they're rather plentiful and have a lower entry level price. These same qualities make these cars excellent platforms for a custom performance build. This '79 model has been modified and improved from top to bottom. The lethargic 350 CID V8 has been removed to make room for a built Chevrolet Big Block. It is a 454 CID V8 with 502 heads and valve train. Backing the 454 is a 700R4 transmission with a 2,000 stall converter. Of course a big block will make a lot more power, but safety items such as suspension and braking have been increased as well.
