1949 MG YT

BACKGROUND: Only 904 YTs were built for export to the United States from 1948 to 1950. The MG YT cars used rack and pinion steering, which was a rarely seen option for a car in America at the time.
This particular MG YT fires right up and purrs just like a kitten. It runs and drives very well and is ready for a new owner to drive and enjoy it as often as desired. It is utilizing the same engine as the TC, a 1250cc 4 cylinder, but with higher compression and two SU carburetors producing 54. 4 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque. The independent front suspension setup features unequal length A-arms and coil springs to provide valuable feedback to the driver. Also standard were drum brakes and 16-inch wheels on all four corners. The chassis on the YT utilized a steel ladder frame, it was often and incorrectly said to be made of wood. What was made of wood, most of which was oak, was the framework on which the bodywork was hung.
