For 1953, the Patrician used the same 327-cubic-inch (5,360 cc) 9-main bearing engine that used for 1951 and 1952 but for the first time added a four barrel carburetor for an increase in power. For 1954, the new 359-cubic-inch (5,880 cc) 9-main bearing, aluminum head 212 hp (158 kW) engine was standard and also featured a 4-brl carburetor. 1954 was the first year to add a start-position to the ignition key - earlier years were started by a switch built into the carburetor which was actuated by depressing the accelerator pedal to the floor.

A general description implies that all Patrician models were fitted out with standard equipment when in fact they could be built to order. If a customer wanted a manual transmission then that is what he or she would be given by the factory. This numbers matching Packard is showing only just over 55k miles and has the automatic transmission. The story of how the BMW 2002 became to exist is actually a pretty cool one. Original the 02 series had a 1. 6L that did not meet enthusiasts- standards as it was a small horsepower engine. That is when two BMW executives modified both of their 1600-2 cars to hold a 2. 0L engine. The story goes as follows. Helmut Werner B¶nsch, BMW's director of product planning, and Alex von Falkenhausen, designer of the M10 engine, each had a two-liter engine installed in a 1600-2 for their respective personal use. When they realized they had both made the same modification to their own cars, they prepared a joint proposal to BMW's board to manufacture a two-liter version of the 1600-2. At the same time, American importer Max Hoffman was asking BMW for a sporting version of the 02 series that could be sold in the United States. So along came the BMW 2002. Producing 101 horsepower in a compact body.

Powered by a modified 455 cubic inch Oldsmobile Rocket V8 that packs a punch. It is painted red to match the car and has an aluminum Edelbrock intake, chrome air cleaner, red Edelbrock valve covers, modified distributer, performance spark plug wires, power steering and power brakes. The Transmission is an automatic shifted by a B&M T-Handle shifter putting the power to the rear that includes performance shocks and a rear sway bar as well. In 2009, this Cutlass had the transmission rebuilt, a new A/C compressor, spark plugs, throttle cable, TV cable, front brakes and rotors, wheel bearings, center link, inner tie rod ends, crank seal, valve cover gaskets, ball joints, and new power steering gearbox. The power steering pump was then replaced as well as all the hoses, and a new set of premium Goodyear Eagle F1 tires were added to the 22- Asanti custom wheels.
