The Bel Air was the most luxurious of the fill-size Chevrolets in 1957, and this one has been modified to make it even better. Where there would normally be a small bloc 265 CID engine now resides a small block 383 CID engine with much more grunt. It is outfitted with dual-quad carburetors, Dougs headers, full stainless steel custom exhaust, chrome fuel pump, chrome alternator, polished A/C compressor, aluminum radiator, and a billet overflow tank squeezing out a very potent 450hp. Power is then transferred through a TH-400 transmission with a shift kit and controlled with a B&M Hammer shifter. Power is put to the wheels through a Ford 9 inch unit packing 3. 73 gears and a big drum brake kit. This car was fully restored and fully modified at the same time. So you start with a C4 Corvette chassis as a solid foundation and upgrade it. Then you add a great drivetrain package. A GM Performance TPI 350 CID fuel injection engine, bolt it to a 700R4 four speed automatic transmission, replace the driveshaft with an all aluminum one piece unit.
