Chevy released the 454SS in 1990 as a modern muscle truck. They were an instant success with over 13000 units sold. The engine was of course the big draw with the big block producing 230 HP with a tire-shredding 385 lb. -ft of torque. This black beauty is an original 454SS that has been well taken care of and has recently undergone a cosmetic restoration. The engine runs strong along with the automatic transmission, which shifts easily through the gears. The Rear-end on the truck is the 14 Bolt with the 5-lug bolt pattern. The Stylemaster was an entry level trim model that ran from 1946-1948. It was offered as a two-door sedan, four door sedan and a business coupe with a front seat only. The door-door versions outsold four-doors by 70% in this period. Chevrolet advertised the new model as 'Big car quality at the lowest cost'. The only power plant available on the Stylemaster was a 216 I6 attached to a three-speed manual transmission. This 1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster restomod is painted in orange with a tricolor stripe of tangerine, blue and yellow running down the side of the car. The top has been chopped four inches with a Camaro front subframe. Electric door poppers have replaced the door handles for a distinctively clean look. This is without a doubt one of the nicest 3rd-gen Novas that we've had, in terms of the quality of the restoration. The Butternut Yellow paint has been applied and finished with great care, and you'll be hard pressed to find anything about the paintwork that you'd want to find issue with. It just looks 'factory'. The same goes for the execution of the vinyl roof and the interior - very nicely done, and they look great! This beast is powered by the venerable 396 CID V8, which seems to have a bit more cam than it might have originally had, given the healthy rumble it's putting out. Ignition for the big block is by MSD: billet distributor, Blaster coil, and plug wires. Behind the 396 is a GM TH400 3-speed automatic, so those who dislike operating a clutch are in luck! The car was restored to look as though it just left the factory assembly line (minus the chalk and wax marker stamps under the hood), and it carries that out wonderfully.
