In 1959, Chevrolet once again radically redesigned the body style of the Impala. The 1959 Impala roofline was a full three inches lower and the body was two inches wider. The most stunning feature of the new '59 Impala had to be the protruding tail fins which now housed a pair of very large single 'teardrop' taillights. Some refer to these taillights as 'cat eyes. ' The headlights of the Impala were a full seven inches lower than the previous year. The 'teardrop' design was also featured on the hood vents of the '59. The trunk area of the '59 Impala was one of Chevrolets largest measuring 32 cubic feet which gives you plenty of room to pack in the cooler and chairs.
