The Ford Model A of 1928 - 1931 also colloquially called the A-Model Ford or the A, and A-bone among hot rodders and customizers alike was the second huge success for the Ford Motor Company, after its predecessor, the Model T. Now obviously this isn't an original, but it's a very good representation of what they were. Powering this beautiful Machine is a 401 cubic inch Buick NailHead. Mated to the engine is a Turbo 400 automatic with a Lokar shifter. Continuing along the drivetrain is the Ford 9-inch rear housing 3. 00 gears. The Model A sits on a custom 2x4 boxed frame, Heidt's Superide III IFS, and has adjustable coil-over shocks in the front and rear. Out back is a triangulated four-link rear suspension. The body is custom hand-laid fiberglass with a 6-inch extension. The beautiful metallic red paint still looks like it's wet. This Model A is the Deluxe Rumble Seat Roadster and features a classic Manila Brown exterior with contrasting black fenders and body accents, along with yellow wire wheels and a subtle pinstripe. This beauty has a fully functional rumble seat, making it a great car for parades or just hauling friends and family around the neighborhood. The engine is a Model B engine, which produces an extra 10 horsepower (50 vs. the Model A engine's 40HP output), so it can certainly handle it! This car was professionally restored by a team of Model A Club members in Ft. Lauderdale, and it was thoroughly gone through in the process. The body and frame were fully disassembled and stripped down prior to a proper paint application, and then it was reassembled with new wood braces. The engine was upgraded to a 1932 Model B 50HP unit, which was completely rebuilt by engine specialist Hap Christiansen. It received a complete valve job, all new bearings, pistons, gaskets, and carburetor; plus, the water pump and distributor were completely rebuilt, and the charging system was upgraded to an alternator-equipped system (in place of a generator).
