1940 was a rough year to be in the car business. With war on everyone-s mind and not even quite recovered from the worst economic downturn the world had ever seen. Having that said Ford had done very little to its line up with the major differences happening actually on the inside. The outside was already near perfection which is probably why these cars are still so loved today. Popular to the Streetrod crowd, they are taken and stripped down to nothing but a shell and then rebuilt using modern parts. This 40 Ford is a great example of just that. The body itself is in excellent shape with panel fitment being of the highest quality. The black paint looks like a sheet of glass with the chrome being the perfect contrast. The extra wide white walls are a classic touch with the red painted steel wheels completing that timeless look. Under the hood is the most popular engine to ever be created, the small block 350.
