The 'Squarebird', as the 1958-60 T-Birds were known, represented a sharp redirection from the original 2-seat convertibles that were a sales success and handily outsold Corvettes in the mid-50's. This was the baby-boomer era though- an American consumer with growing families desired more space in their vehicles for the whole family and their luggage. Therefore, the sporty heritage of the original T-Bird had to be refined for a little more practicality. This '59 comes painted in a head-turning Dark Blue color with all kinds of stylish features to set your eyes on from rear body fins to the wide pillar roof and chrome dual taillight surrounds. A desirable 'Continental Kit' or sporty spare wheel carrier mounted on the back of the car adds to the glamorous look of this Squarebird. Most Thunderbirds were ordered with a 352 CID V8 which was rated at 300hp although the weight of the car means you probably won't see a sub-10 second 0-60. That's ok though; this car was built to cruise.
