1972 Buick Skylark

Originally a base Skylark with a smaller displacement engine and column shifted automatic, this vehicle was nothing more than a casual cruiser. The builder of the vehicle wasn't satisfied having it 'average' and wanted to take the vehicle to the next level. The original power plant was removed in favor of a 454 big block Chevrolet engine. The 454 makes gobs of torque and bellows a throaty rumble when you step on the gas. The hood-mounted tachometer keeps tabs on the engine speed while you keep an eye on the road. Managing the shifting is a turbo-400 3-speed automatic transmission.
The body is mostly '72, but a '70 front clip was fitted to more completely clone the GSX. A layer of white paint was laid down smoothly and the GSX decals were set on the Buick. A GSX spoiler and badging were fitted as a final touch to make this Buick pop. The black vinyl...
