The 1969 model year saw a lot of changes for the Firebird, as it received a major facelift. It received a new front end design, but unlike the GTO, it did not receive the Endura bumper. Additionally, the instrument panel and steering wheel were revised, mainly due to the introduction of GM-s new locking ignition switch on the steering column.
This Firebird is truly something special, however. Equipped with a 400 CID V8 Ram Air III engine and a 4-speed manual Muncie transmission, it has more than enough horsepower to get up and go, as the RAIII engines were rated at 335 horsepower in 1969 and the Muncie transmissions allows for smooth, speedy, and seamless gear changes with ease.
