The F series line of trucks was introduced in 1948 as the 'Bonus-Built' truck. This was due to the simple fact that the new line was just that a completely new line. No longer were there trucks based upon a car chassis it was based on a completely new design. With all new sheet metal and a much larger cab the new F1 was an instant hit. This 48 was a frame off build that took 2 years to complete. The paint, a custom blend, will have everyone looking at the next show. The fiberglass fenders and running boards are done so good that if you weren't told they were glass you would think they were steel. The wood bed has a slick gloss poly over it with the chrome slats accenting it nicely. The wide white wall tires compliment the painted wheels and dog-dish hub caps nicely and complete the exterior look. Under the hood lies a small block Ford 302 that was bored. 030 over and gone through with an upgraded cam being added before getting reinstalled in the truck.
