Known as the Chevy II Nova in 1967, the Chevy II nameplate and the vehicle became simply known as the Chevrolet Nova the following year. Also in 1967, the base 283 V-8 engine option was rated at 195 horsepower. Some lucky owners, however, ordered an upgrade.
