If you-re a Trans Am enthusiast, the 1989 Turbo Trans Am pace car really is the one to own. It-s still the fastest-accelerating T/A ever built. This might be the most subtle GM pace car ever, but what it lacked in graphics it more than made up for in horsepower. The third-generation F-bodies were pretty good looking cars, particularly the Trans Am, and all the unique styling aspects are extremely well-preserved given tendency for the plastic trim to crack. This is one of the few that proudly wears its original pace car decals. Functional vents on the hood and a subtle TURBO badge on the front fenders are your only tipoff that this is a special car. A tan leather interior was actually an optional upgrade on these cars, which came with tan cloth as standard equipment. The deeply bolstered buckets are still incredibly comfortable even after 25 years and show minimal wear. The Lemans was introduced in late 61 as the top of the line Tempest model with the biggest upgrade being a pair of bucket seats upfront. This generation of Lemans was just simply an OK seller but would stay in the lineup until the highly anticipated 64 model came out. This model was a complete success with the styling of the new model attracting a much younger audience. The 3rd generation, which ran from 1968 until 1972, would be the best of all the models. This 72 is a great example of what the Lemans had to offer, a great looking car that could be obtained for not a lot of money.
