This is a car built by the owner in 2009. It has been custom built from the chassis and drivetrain, to the wheels, interior and more.

The body of this car, a 'Redneck' 34 3 window coupe, has a 2-5/8' chop with steel reinforcement. Shaved door handles, power windows, and 'Gearhead' turn signals and brake lights. All of this is sitting on a STAGE3 custom built chassis built by 'Street Rods by Michael'. It is a fully boxed frame, Vega steering box, chrome steering linkage, polished tri 4 bar, and fully adjustable coil over shocks. Wilwood power disc brakes all around, 'Rock Valley' gas tank, and 'King Bee' headlights. Moving on to the drivetrain, it is powered by a new 350/330hp crate engine. This engine is mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission. The stylish cars and trucks produced by Willy's in the early 1940s have long been a cornerstone of the hot-rodding and drag racing crowd. While a Hemi-powered '40 Willy's tearing up a local drag strip is an iconic image for any historic drag racing aficionado, the same sight might make a traditional marque enthusiast squirm. Whether in coupe or light-duty pickup form, the compact dimensions and light weight of the Willy's 'Ameri-car' line lent itself well to hotrodders shoving massive V8 engines under the hood and going racing.

Presenting everyone's favorite drag car, an all steel 1940 Willy's 440 Deluxe. It has been converted back to a streetcar now with a new crate 350, a rebuilt Turbo 400 and a Ford 9' rear. In the early 40's the U. S. was on a decade removed from the great depression. America was still bouncing back but just around the corner was WWII. Production would not last long into 1942 when the government ordered the complete shut-down of all civilian automotive manufacturing. This was in direct response to the start of the U. S. 's involvement in WWII. Ford would not be able to restart production until 1946 and that is the year we have here. This '46 Ford has seen many changes and upgrades. Upon approach to this hot rod you are entranced by the beautiful orange paint. The tan leather interior is in great shape, hardly looks used. The stance of this Ford is aggressive. This beautiful build is loaded top to bottom with custom and high dollar modifications making this one top notch vehicle. Starting with an N&N fiberglass body, trunk, custom hood and side panels featuring hidden hinges and shaved handles all coated in a breaming Taylor blue paint job. This vehicle has a custom chopped windshield with polished frame, all chrome front suspension and grill insert to match that really pop out next to that deep blue paint. Moving on to the bread and butter under that fiberglass hood top we have got a stout Chevrolet small block 355CI with a chopping cam and all the shiny accessories including polished Corvette valve covers, chrome alternator, polished intake and spark plug runners and a rowdy set of Sanderson limefire-coated headers bursting out the side of the engine bay. Bringing this vehicle together is a tasteful hand painted pinstripe and a custom peanut butter leather interior with plush carpet inside and in the trunk as well.
