With the success of the GT350, and the GT500, Shelby had decided to build what was considered the fastest and most well-optioned Mustang to date, with an astonishing 335 Horsepower from the factory, that was later discovered to be closer to 410 Horsepower, you can be sure that by turning the key, you are nearly unleashing hell on the rest of the cars on the road. The KR badge stood for 'King of the Road', and of course for a good reason. The 428 Cobra Cobra Jet was designed from the factory with the heads off of the race-built 427 engine from the prior year, equipped with bigger valves and bigger intake ports.
