A gasser is a type of hot rod that grew in popularity until the early 70's. They are stripped of any extra weight and jacked up using a beam axle which provides better weight distribution during hard acceleration. With fiberglass body panels and stripped out interiors these cars were designed to go fast in a straight line. The name arose because they competed in a gasoline-fueled drag racing class, rather than one using methanol or nitromethane. This 63 Chevy II is somewhat of a hybrid that embraces certain qualities of the old Gassers. Typically Gassers are a little rough around edges due to the hard lives they live at the track. This car is a fresh build with less than 2000 miles on it since completion. The exterior has been painted in a beautiful Sunset Orange (code 91073256). Tilt the fiberglass front end forward to reveal the heavily modified small block motor. Starting life as the classic 350 4 bolt main, the cubic displacement has been increased to 383 cubic inches! The JE 10. 5 to 1 pistons are connected to the 400 crank making this one of the most durable builds. The Lunati cam gives it a nice race car...
