This cute little 1961 MG MGA was originally made in Great Britain where the trunk is the boot and the hood is the bonnet. The initials MG stand for Morris Garage and was founded in 1924 creating little sports cars under its own moniker. The MGAs success in the American market in the late 1940-s and early 1950-s is what let to the design and creation of cars like the T-Bird and most notably the Corvette. Driving now started to become something fun and sporty in one of these little classics and the MGA delivered sexy lines and reliable mechanics to boot--. or rather to bonnet.

Powering this classic American muscle car is a 350 cubic inch small block backed by a 4 manual transmission. Power steering and power brakes allow you to hug the corners to ease and precision. This powerhouse was built by Jasper, so quality on the engine build is definitely there. Of course the Jasper rebuild on the engine is fairly recent, only 2000 miles since it was installed. The 498 CID Chevrolet Big Block Mark IV has recently been rebuilt by Jeff Taylor of Jeff Taylor Performance. The Crower Mechanical Fuel Injection has been gone through by Fuel Injection Enterprises. The Powerglide Transmission has been built by Zimmerman Racing and has 5200 stall Coan converter. The rear end is a 4 link adjustable setup with a 9- Ford rear end with an Aluminum Summer Brothers 3rd member. The rear end has 3. 89 gears, a spool, floater hubs, Summers Axles, and Wilwood disc brakes. On the Current set up, this dragster will run 5. 30-s in the 1/8 mile. It has not made any 1/4 mile passes, but it should easily run 8. 40 in the 1/4 mile (based on a conversion factor).
