The Chevrolet Deluxe was introduced in 1940 and was designed to be the every man-s car. Economically powered with the blue flame inline 6 and minimal options list, the Deluxe was indeed a car for every man. Unfortunately just 2 years after its introduction, production was halted with the advent of WW2. Even though production was halted for civilian use, General Motors produced a few thousand coupes and sedans for military staff cars. With high production numbers, sweeping styling, and smooth lines it was only a matter of time before the hot rod generation would take note. The Deluxe, Stylemaster, and Fleetmaster have all been used as canvas-s for hot rods, some featuring exotic cubic inch engines, extremely chopped rooflines, and wild paint schemes.
