1940 was a rough year to be in the car business. With war on everyone-s mind and not even quite recovered from the worst economic downturn the world had ever seen. Having that said Ford had done very little to its line up with the major differences happening actually on the inside. The outside was already near perfection which is probably why these cars are still so loved today. Popular to the Streetrod crowd, they are taken and stripped down to nothing but a shell and then rebuilt using modern parts. This 40 Ford is a great example of just that. The body itself is in excellent shape with panel fitment being of the highest quality. The black paint looks like a sheet of glass with the chrome being the perfect contrast. This beautifully restored Ford has a lot to offer. The exterior is painted in a PPG Washington Blue paint which was an original Ford color. The sedan also has a painted tan pin stripe that matches the tasteful interior. Looking inside you will see tan leather, a tan custom rear speaker tray, VDO gauges, a hand built custom console, and a Lokar automatic shifter. Everything has either been refurbished or replaced. Under the hood is a 302 CID V8 engine with AOD transmission. The drivetrain is followed by a 1967 Ford Mustang rear-end and a 2. 79 gear. There are just 470 miles since the car was rebuilt! Starting with the exterior is a Deuce Customs Body with a 4 inch recessed firewall and 2 5/8 inch chop top. A matching hood has been fabbed up to match the body with sides being left open to show off the bad ass 392 Hemi that powers this beauty. Two 600 cfm Edelbrock carburetor insure the massive Hemi gets plenty of fuel.

Both engine & trans both have approx 12k miles on them since a rebuild. A 16 gallon fuel cell will insure you can travel for a bit, before needing to stop to refuel. A custom built 700R4 four speed automatic transmission is mated to the Hemi. Insuring the power gets to the ground is a Ford 9 inch rear end with a posi trak and 3. 89 gears. The front suspension is a TCI straight axle with front drilled front disc brakes.
