Powered by a balanced and blueprinted 502 CID V8 this powerhouse is said by the owner to be putting out around 565hp. A few other added parts are the Edelbrock electronic fuel injection system, Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold HEI distributor, Stewart aluminum water pump, dual electric cooling fans, and an aluminum 5-core radiator to keep this monster cool. To get up into the powerband, you will certainly enjoy shifting through the Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. When your putting down a lot of power, it's also nice to still maintain a smooth ride. To do that the front suspension system was upgraded to include a beefy sway bar, adjustable coil-over shocks, and tubular upper and lower control arms. The braking system was also upgraded so you now have 4-wheel drilled and slotted disc brakes. Giving the car a nice sound is the dual Magnaflow X pipe exhaust connected to a set of Hooker headers. The Ford F-Series is a series of full-size pickup trucks from the Ford Motor Company which has been sold continuously since 1948. For the 1953 model year, an all-new version of the F-Series made its debut. Increased dimensions, improved engines, and an updated chassis were features of the second generation. The F-Series naming scheme also changed for this generation, the half-ton F1 would become the F100. The F2 and F3 were combined to become the F250 while the F4 was moved to F350. This particular second generation Ford truck is very good at concealing a fuel injected big block Chevrolet 502 C. I. D V8 engine, that is until you turn the key and let the horses sing at the top of their lungs. Hooked to this massive engine is a 4 speed automatic transmission directing all the power to the BFGoodrich rubber that surrounds the very clean American Racing wheels. If you have never owned a Nomad before I will give you a little history lesson on these wonderful cars. 1955 was the year when these first started being parked in front of the Chevrolet dealership and being advertised as a 2 door station wagon. The Nomad was very well known in its 55-57 form. It was first introduced as a concept at the 1954 Gm Motorama show; they figured it would sell a lot more if it had many similarities as the Bel Air. As a matter of fact it wasn-t uncommon to be called the -Bel Air Nomad-. These cars had a lot of the same trim as the Bel Airs with the front end being almost identical, spears on the fenders, chrome window moldings and wheel covers. They came packed with an overhead valve, high compression, short stroked 265 4. 3 CID V8 which actually remained in production in various forms because of its performance. But this Nomad isn-t packing a 265 carbureted engine, no, no, this thing is packing a Modern LT1 fuel injected turnkey and go engine! The LT1 has 4000 miles since rebuild and is mated to an automatic transmission which makes a great cruiser....

It started out life with a 383 CID V8 car but now this RT is equipped with the venerable 440 CID Big Block Wedge V8, with a serious cam upgrade. If you like the sound of a big bumpstick's lopey idle, this one will put you in heaven. With only 850 miles on the powertrain since the engine and TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission were rebuilt, it's only just getting broken in.
