1970 was the first year for the newly designed much sleeker and more modern second generation Camaro. With a completely new and restyled front end the car appeared to be and actually was a lot lower to the ground. The short rear deck was Chevrolets first attempt at a fastback body style and it was an instant success. The first generation Camaro was considered to be a compromise and was seen as a hasty response to the Mustang. Just like when it was originally built this split bumper has had no corners cut in its complete frame off restoration. With the suspension and sub-frame blasted and powder coated there are many parts of this car that are actually better than the originals. Pop the Silver hood accented with a satin black racing stripe and a small block 350 comes into view. The satin finish valve covers add to the clean look with the matching air cleaner completing the look. All the subtleness goes away when that 4 bolt fires up.
