In 1963 Chrysler developed the 426/415 horsepower Max-Wedge Super Stock which were factory built race cars that were sold to compete in Super Stock drag race competitions. As tested in the 1963 issue of Hot Rod Magazine these Savoy with the 426 Max Wedge could run 12. 6 seconds in a quarter mile with a top speed of 112 miles per hour right off the showroom floor without any modifications.
