This particular Thunderbird originated in California. The T-Bird was Henry Ford's response to the Chevrolet Corvette. Though it was sleek and sporty, the Thunderbird was not considered a sports car to Ford, but a 'personal luxury vehicle. ' This T-Bird is powered by the legendary 292 Y-block V8, which has been bored 30 over and was rebuilt about 9 years ago. This 1956 Ford Thunderbird features the Ford-o-Matic 2 speed automatic transmission. The transmission was also rebuilt with a shift kit. It has a '57 manifold and carburetor. A new 3 core radiator and new wiring harness in the front section was also installed.
