Leading into the 1940's the world was just coming out of the great depression. Chevrolet wanted to replace the dated Master design for their Pickup and put pen to paper and drafted up a new design. Using the Deluxe 'A' platform the AK series was born. The Chevrolet AK Series Pickup would run from 1941-1947. Here we have a '41 model, the first year of the new generation. If only fenders could talk. The black paint has some age but still looks good. The wooden bed rails add a lot of character and add to its history as well. More on that shortly. The black vinyl interior is in good shape and dash really throws you back in time. Under the hood in the believed original inline 6-cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. You will notice on the driver side a small plate on the bottom of the engine block that says, 'US Navy. ' This truck was originally built for service in the Navy. Triumph certainly has been known for the spirited sports cars and motorcycles, but many don't know their roots start back in the late 1800s selling bicycles. Triumph wouldn't produce their first car until the early 1920s. From humble beginnings as it were. By the mid-50s Triumph Motor Company wanted to replace their dated TR2 and the aptly named TR3 was introduced in 1955. With more power and better breaking it was a solid replacement. The TR3A name isn't well known, even the cars don't don the 'A', but British car enthusiasts will be familiar with the model. A new facelift, full width radiator and various othering convenience and styling cues were added that make this model highly desirable. The TR3A would see production until 1962. Here we have a '60 model and wow, what a car! The red paint really shows off the style and sleek angles of this car and is sharp. The black vinyl top looks fresh and in good order. By the mid-80s Chevrolet had been in the truck seen for decades and their flagship truck had seen many models and redesigns over the years. The C/K Series Chevy pickup would see 4 generations spanning over 40 years. This model is an '85, a mid-3rd generation and the black paint with the vinyl stripe kit is in good shape overall. She is lowered and sitting nicely on a set of 20' Billet Specialties rims. Really gives this truck a nice stance! Inside is two-tone black and gray. Dash and carpet are black while the gray vinyl seats contrast well and are in very good condition. Under the hood is a 350ci V8 and per the former owner has seen a rebuild.
