1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass
View Description
In a world where gas costs under 40 cents and epa regulations were almost non existent, it was only natural that muscle cars would become the hottest cars in the late 60-s and early 70-s. This brought us gems like the Pontiac GTO, Chevelle SS, Plymouth Barracuda, and others, but one stood out from the pack.
For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time: the Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. The name 442 comes from the fact that the car has a four-barrel carburetor, 4-speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts. The 442 became its own model, rather than an option on the Cutlass, from 1968 to 1971. In order to keep pace with the large, high- horsepower engines coming from the competition, Oldsmobile fired back with their answer. This was the 455 CID engine putting out 365 horsepower. This particular 442 has that same potent 455/365 engine. Saying this car has some power is an understatement. Proving its performance, the 1970 442 was the official pace car at the Indianapolis 500 race.
This 442 is absolutely gorgeous under sunlight. The white interior pops against the gold...
