During the restoration the car was upgraded with polyurethane bushings, cast iron drum brakes vs. standard steel drum brakes, hard brake shoes, stainless steel bumpers and a three roller bearing steering column. Painted in an eye catching Ford Maroon that is accented nicely with black fenders and a tan canvas soft top. The soft top is a full top that fully encloses the cabin with side windows. Once the top is off, the wind is blowing in your hair, but not too much thanks to the side window deflectors. Ford Motor Company designed one of the most recognizable American cars of all time. Often referred to as a 'ShoeBox Ford,' 1949-1951 Fords featured slab sides and prominent 'bullet' nose. Several body styles were available including the Crestliner 'Sport Sedan'. These 2 door sedans featured two tone paint schemes which aimed at the Chevrolets of the time which often had a contrasting roof color.
