Mercury offered the Montclair as a full-size automobile from 1955-1960 and from 1964-1968 assembled in the U. S. The 55 and 56 models featured Mercury's best offering extra chrome trim and different two-tone paint combinations to set them apart from other models. In 1956, the dash was redesigned with a new three-tier instrument panel. This 1956 Mercury looks phenomenal as you can tell by just looking around the car. Sporting a 312 C. I. D V8 Y Block and 2 speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. The exterior Glamour Tan and Classic White paint on this car is what pulls all the attention but this beauty also looks great on the inside with Tan cloth and vinyl. One would not guess it has been a little over a decade since this beautiful 55 was restored. The odometer since restoration only reads just over 12,000 miles with roughly 8,000 on the engine/transmission!

In 2009 the labor of love began and if the job was to be done, it was decided to be done right! The 55 had lived a hard life because almost all the body components, moldings, and glass were sourced new. A built sheet is available upon request for a more extensive list.

The wiring is a New American Classic harness with the gauges either replaced or rebuilt. The engine is a 350 4 bolt main block with a steel crank, Eagle rods, J&E forged pistons, competition hydraulic cam, roller rockers, HD push rods, high volume oil pump, aluminum heads/intake, stainless steel valves, screw in studs, MSD ignition, Griffin aluminum radiator, a Holley 680 double pump, and ceramic coated headers with 3-inch stainless steel custom exhaust! All that to say, she is built RIGHT!
