This big block Chevelle is powered by an LS-5 454 originally under rated at 360 horsepower. Chevrolet would never allow another car in their line up to out power the Corvette. In 1970 Chevy rated the same engine in the Corvette at 390 horsepower. This is the only year it didn't go according to plan. The Chevelle also offered the 450 horsepower LS-6 that wasn't available in the Corvette until 1971. They had something even better , the LS-7.
